Jargalant – Umnudelger
Location: 290 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar in the Umnudelger soum of Khentii province
Features: The area is in the buffer zone of Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area, the natural and historical treasure of the country and declared by UNESCO as world heritage site and covers 1.2 million hectare area including forests, taiga, and mountain forest steppe. Jargalant valley is a part of this one of the world’s last great unharmed grassland ecosystems.

Uglugch Wall – Batshireet
Location: 370 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar in the Batshireet soum of Khentii province
Features: The 3.2 km stone wall is made entirely of stones without use of mortar as called Uglugch Wall. This famous archeological site is considered as Royal cemetery by the research of Mongolian-American expedition team who identified 60 ancient graves at the area. It surrounded by forested mountains & lush green valley.

Khavtgar – Batshireet
Location: 450 km northeast of Ulaanbaatar in the Batshireet soum of Khentii province
Features: Khavtgar is the Local protected area (LPA), covers 104000 hectares, and makes it as largest local protected area in the country. The Khavtgar LPA established at the initiative of the local people of Batshireet, the only Eco Soum in Mongolia and implements community-based natural resources management. There is excellent habitat for wildlife such as elk, moose, Siberian roe deer, musk deer, wild boar, brown bear, lynx, capercaillie, black goose in the Khavtgar LPA. Another unique identity of the area is its people who are semi-nomad Buryat, who live in wooden huts rather than in felt Gers, who practice dairy and livestock farming rather than keeping cashmere goats.

Shiliyn Bogd – Dariganga
Location: 780 km southeast of Ulaanbaatar in the Dariganga soum of Sukhbaatar province
Features: The Shiliyn Bogd Khairkhan – sacred mountain is the highest peak of the area with an elevation of 1778m (5833 feet). Mongolians believe that the spirit of any man, who climbs it, especially at sunrise, will be revived. About 220 extinct volcanoes exist in the region, makes the area is stunning and legendary. Since the area is close to Chinese border, it becomes the Mongolian most eastern spot to see the greatest sunrise. Historically, the Shiliyn Bogd Mountain was the worship place for Black Banner of Chinggis Khaan. One of the most interesting formations of world caves, the Taliyn Agui (Steppe cave) locates in this area (12 km north of Shiliyn Bogd). This large underground mysterious hole formed by lava from volcanic eruption many millennia ago.
