Location: 1458km west of Ulaanbaatar in the Munkh Khairkhan soum of Khovd province.
Features: Munkh Khairkhan is the second highest point 4362m above sea level of Mongolia and became state protected in 2006 in order to protect threatened species of Snow Leopard, Ibex and Wild mountain sheep and rich ancient cultural sites. Munkh Khairkhan Mountain is the natural boundary of Hovd and Bayan Olgii provinces, so as you pass over this mountain range you will meet with different people, culture and further more.
