Flight to Uliastai & Travel to Khar Lake
Your guide will meet you at the hotel in the morning and transfer you to the airport to take a flight to Uliastai, the centre of Zavkhan province. On arrival at the domestic airport, our local service team will meet and greet us. Then continue to travel to Khar Lake for 120 km. On the way, we will be walking for 2 hours. The Lake Khar Nuur is a picturesque lake surrounded by dunes and huge impressive mountains. It is 3 – 8km wide, 25km long, 57m deep and is 1,980m above sea level. Right in the middle of Lake Khar Nuur, there are two beautiful islands, known as the Big and Small Avgash, which are rich with different types of trees and bushes and different species of wonderful wildflowers which form a huge carpet across the islands. Birds gather here and spend the whole summer on these islands. They include cormorants, swans and one usual species of duck which in Mongolian is called Angir. It is a great place to do bird watching. Stay overnight in Ger camp. LD
Travel to Senjit Rock & Mukhartiin Gol
Morning drive to Senjit Rock for 20km. We will have an opportunity to see the Rock Gate or Senjit Tsokhio, a natural gate formed by sun and wind erosion. We can also see many unusual rock formations in this area. Continue driving to Mukhartiin Gol for 18km. Picnic lunch. Walking around the area and seeing nature. Late afternoon then back to Ger camp. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Trekking around dunes
Today we will trek around the dunes for 3-4hours at Elsen Shanaa. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Travel to Tosontsengel
Travel to Tosontsengel soum (a local administration unit) of Zavkhan province for 220km. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Travel to Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan
Travel to Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan for 220km, is an astonishingly beautiful lake, which was formed by dam of lava flows from volcanic eruption many millennia ago. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Travel to Tsenkher hot spring
Morning we will drive to Khorgo mountain, is dead volcano which lies east of the lake Terkhiin Tsagaan. The volcanic crater of the mountain is 200 meters wide and 100 meters deep. The northern slope is covered with Siberian larch forest. Then continue travel to Tsenkher hot spring for 220km. The hot spring with water at +86.5 degree Celsius is very popular in the area. After having a rest you can hike along the surrounding forested mountain and in the evening enjoy taking a hot spring bath. On the way we will see river Chuluut, flows through a sheer basalt canyon which extends 100 kilometers from the mouth of the Teel river to the Atsat. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Travel to Kharakhorum
Travel to Kharakhorum for 120 km. Kharakhorum is the ancient capital of Mongolia where Chinggis Khaan established his headquarters in 1220. In 1235, his son and successor, Ogodei built a Palace enclosed by walls. You will visit Erdenezuu Monastery, the largest and first Mongolian Buddhist temple complex built on the remains of 16th-century Kharakhorum city and an interesting local museum which showcases the Mongolian Past. Late afternoon we will visit a local cooperative to attend a workshop for making small felt items. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
Travel to Ulaanbaatar
Travel back to Ulaanbaatar 360 km. On the way visit Hustai National Park. Hustai National Park encompasses an area of 50.620 hectares and is the habitat of resurrected wild Mongolian horses, popularly known as Takhi (Przewalski’s Horse). Explore the park to see the Takhi horses in the wilderness.
Late afternoon continue drive to Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. End of the service. BL

Occupancy: you can stay in a single, twin or double room/ger/tent (where applicable). Single occupancy may not be possible during the Naadam festival (July 5th -15th) at ger camps. At community-based camps and ger homestays, single occupancy is subject to availability. Single and twin/double occupancy at ger camps require an extra supplement as shown in the above table.
